Lateral Ground Movement Estimation from Space borne Radar by Differential Interferometry

چکیده
Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Interferometry (InSAR) is a powerful and exciting technique that has gained eminence in the last 10 years after the advances in Satellite imaging systems. Interferometry is a phase-based technique which uses a coherent imaging system to extract topographical information from image pairs. This paper will demonstrate the possibility of extracting lateral ground displacement with InSAR. Movement derived from one look direction (subsidence only) will contain errors, if it is incorrectly assumed that the other two components (East-West and North-South) are zero. The suggested technique can be used to improve the accuracy of single-pair subsidence estimates by fusing two non-parallel pass images and measuring the lateral movement.

Determination of the displacement rate of the Masouleh landslide for management of landslide risk by Radar Interferometry
One of the most common natural phenomena occurring in mountainous regions of the world is landslide which causes critical damages and is considered as a natural disaster. Iran is a country which annually suffers from this disaster and its consequent damage of about 500 billion Rial. Over the last 15 years, an increasing number of researches have aimed to demonstrate the applicability of the im...
متن کاملDifferential Radar Interferometry for Structural and Ground Deformation Monitoring: A New Tool for the Conservation and Sustainability of Cultural Heritage Sites
Affected by natural and human-induced factors, cultural heritage sites and their surroundings face threats of structural instability and land displacement. Accurate and rapid identification of the key areas facing existing or potential deformation risks is essential for the conservation and sustainability of heritage sites, particularly for huge archaeological regions. In recent years, the succ...
متن کاملThree-stage inversion improvement for forest height estimation using dual-PolInSAR data
This paper addresses an algorithm for forest height estimation using single frequency single baseline dual polarization radar interferometry data. The proposed method is based on a physical two layer volume over ground model and is represented using polarimetric synthetic aperture radar interferometry (PolInSAR) technique. The presented algorithm provides the opportunity to take advantages of t...

The Differential Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry (DInSAR) technique is recognized as a potential remote sensing tool for detecting ground surface displacements with less than a centimetre accuracy. The surface soil moisture changes ( 1clip_image001.png" > ) during the time between the two images as an effective parameter on interferometry phase 1clip_image002.png" > ), leads to incorrec...
